Q:  WHAT IS A “GRILL REFRESH TUNE-UP”?

A:  A Refresh Tune-Up for your gas grill involves removing the various internal parts of the grill, checking and inspecting each part including the cooking grates, flavorizer bars/heat shields, burners, valves, air shutters, valve orifices, regulator, gas connections, automatic igniters and other vital components of the grill. The tune-up involves adjusting and making minor repairs intended to keep the grill operating correctly and safely. A tune-up also includes a Gas Leak Safety Check to diagnose any connections that may be leaking gas. Any leaking connections found are tightened, sealed or certain fittings may be changed. Automatic igniters are adjusted in order to ignite the burners properly. An operational demonstration is provided to the customer. The Refresh Tune-Up generally takes approximately one to two hours.


Q:  WHAT DOES A "DELUXE GRILL REFRESH" INVOLVE?

A: A Deluxe Refresh includes the steps involved in the Refresh Tune-Up process including removal and inspection of each of the vital parts/components of the grill. The automatic igniter is checked and adjusted, grill racks, flavorizer bars, and heat plates are thoroughly scrubbed then soaked in our special steam tank that removes all built-up grease and grime.  The heat shield and burners are cleaned and inspected, drip pan removed and degreased, valves checked/lubricated and cleaned out.  Major grease and grime are removed from the various parts of the grill and from the interior/exterior of the grill. The exterior is then polished to that perfect like-new finish. The grill is tested and checked for leaks and an operational demonstration is provided to the customer. This process generally takes two to three hours.


Q:  WILL MY GRILL LOOK LIKE NEW WHEN YOU ARE DONE?

A:   It depends on the service you request and the condition of the grill. Different results may be achieved by a Refresh Tune-up or Deluxe Refresh cleaning.  The best results are achieved with the Deluxe Refresh cleaning as the internal grill parts are removed, then soaked in our steam tank with special Grill Refresh solution. Your grill will look near-new and sometimes operate even better than new as we make certain adjustments to the grill to enable it to burn more efficiently. A Deluxe Refresh cleaning will provide you with a surface-clean grill that will be sanitized; although, some burn marks may still be evident and/or rust.


Q:  I LIVE IN A COMMUNITY/CONDO COMPLEX THAT OFFERS PUBLIC GRILLS...DO YOU CLEAN THOSE?

Q:  HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PERFORM THE GRILL CLEANING SERVICE AT MY HOME?

A:  This depends on the size and condition of the grill as well as the service selected. Generally, a Refresh Tune-up with no cleaning involved usually takes about one hour. A Deluxe Refresh cleaning takes about two and a half to three hours.  If multiple parts need to be replaced, it may be necessary to schedule a follow-up appointment to install parts that need to be ordered at an additional cost.


Q:  WHAT TYPES OF PARTS ARE COMMONLY REPLACED?

A:  Generally this depends on the factors already mentioned above, but the most frequent parts that customers replace are Automatic Igniter Systems, Cooking Grates, Burners, and Flavorizer Bars/Heat Shields.  


Q:  DOES GRILL REFRESH PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MY GRILL AND ARE THEY COVERED IN THE REFRESH PRICE?

A:  Grill Refresh can provide replacement parts for just about any grill on the market and the cost of the parts will be paid for by the customer prior to ordering. There are very few instances where we cannot acquire a part for a particular grill. Generally, if a manufacturer has gone out of business or changed their manufacturing process/location, or discontinued a grill - that is when parts may be difficult to obtain.


Q:  WHAT IF I BOUGHT MY OWN PARTS AND WANT GRILL REFRESH TO INSTALL THEM?

A:  We can install parts that you have purchased, but we do not warranty that the parts will work properly or will fit the grill. We also do not guarantee they will operate correctly for any length of time. We do charge approximately $99 to install parts that you have purchased. If parts are provided by Grill Refresh, we guarantee they will operate correctly, and stand behind our work for 30-Days.


Q:  DO YOU CHECK MY GRILL FOR GAS LEAKS?

A:  Yes - We check the grill for gas leaks during each service call.


Q:  WHAT IS THE “WINDOW OF TIME” FOR ARRIVAL WHEN I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

A:  Please provide approximately 30 minutes flexibility for our service tech to arrive as sometimes they get tied up on a previous appointment or traffic may slow down the arrival time.  However, we will attempt to call you if we are running late and you can always contact us and we can give you an estimated arrival time.


Q:  WILL WATER HARM MY GRILL DURING THE CLEANING PROCESS?

A:  No, water will not harm your grill and we do use water in the cleaning process. However, the grill must be completely dry for the automatic igniters to work properly and this sometimes may take up to 48 hours. 


Q:  WHAT TYPE OF GRILL CLEANING SOLUTIONS DO YOU USE?

A:  All cleaning products we use are Clean and GREEN. What does this mean exactly?  All our cleaning solutions are Bio-Degradable, Eco-Friendly, and Non-Toxic. 


Q:  HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY GRILL BE CLEANED?

A:  This depends on how often your grill is used, the weather conditions (based on where you live - near the ocean or in the desert), and if you cover your grill. It also depends on the foods you cook and sauces as well as the temperature you generally cook at.  Our recommendation is that a grill should have a Deluxe Refresh at least every six months, or if your grill is used often (vacation rental property) and the grill is located near the ocean as well as frequently left uncovered, we recommend a Deluxe Refresh every two to three months or our Weekly Refresh Program.


Q:  ARE THERE ADDITIONAL CHARGES IF MY GRILL IS LARGER THAN 36”, HAS A SEPARATE SIDE BURNER OR OTHER COMPONENTS I WANT TO BE CLEANED?

A:  There may be an additional charge if the grill is larger than 36" or if the Technician determines the grill is "Extra-Dirty" due to a grill that has not been cleaned in many years or is just abnormally in poor condition.  Side-burners are generally cleaned in conjunction with the grill at no additional cost (depending on the number and condition of the side burner).  Multiple side burners or other components in a Grill Island can be cleaned for an additional cost and discussed prior to booking your appointment.
